For the Swedish people, waste sorting is perceived as their responsibility and has been deeply integrated in their daily life.

Education, legislation and infrastructure are the major factors contributing to a successful sustainability policy in Sweden. From kindergarten to high schools, students are educated to play an active role in waste reduction. Legislation on waste sorting and infrastructural support also contribute greatly to the sustainability development in Sweden.

Citizens regard incinerators as reliable ways for waste disposal. They trust the incinerator operators.
